Resolutions: Are they holding up?
As we head toward the end of the month, we are reminded of the set resolutions we all created on the 1st. The question is, are our resolutions holding up? Research suggests that people's resolution's fail after the first couple weeks. We are so busy that we forget our goal for the new year.
That's why I pledged to do monthly resolutions. I believe that monthly resolutions are more realistic and more likely for me to achieve. Here are some tips for your resolutions, whether they are monthly or a full year.
1. Pick a resolution that is best for you. Whether it's to be more organized, go to the gym everyday or stop eating fast food, pick a resolution that will benefit you and your lifestyle the best.
2. Start small and then grow. Start with small goals within your overall goal. If you want to lose weight, have an end goal but also have weekly goals. Resolutions take time.
3. Keep trying. You may not get as far as you wanted to, or you may bump into some challenges, but the important thing is to not give up. You are determined to finish this goal and you will achieve it!
4. Reward yourself. You are putting endless amounts of effort to achieve your resolution. Reward yourself, with a spa day after a tough workout, or treat yourself to a low calorie dessert if you've been following your new diet religiously.
Conquer the new year and stay happy and healthy!
